Karl Lagerfeld

This past week the world lost a fashion icon who helped shape the fashion industry as we know it. Karl Lagerfeld.

We at Fashion Fatigue have decided it is only right to pay tribute to the king of fashion himself in this weeks blog post.

Born in Germany, His career began when he was 20-years-old in Paris, the world's fashion capital, with his mother and after winning a fashion-related contest started to work as a design assistant for Pierre Balmain.

In 1983, 12 years after the death of Coco Chanel, he became the artistic director of the house on Rue Cambon. He later went onto becoming the creative director for Chanel, where he worked up until his death on February 19, 2019.

Lagerfeld decided in 2000 to change his appearance completely in hopes of launching his career further. He lost 40 pounds and decided to immerse his brand with other companies such as H&M, Puma, and even created his own, Karl Lagerfeld.

Lagerfeld was last seen waving to the crowd at the Spring/Summer 2019 Chanel fashion show in Paris.

The fashion world will never be the same with Karl gone and we are all thankful for the creative work he gave us in his time.
